Through this Companions Series, TOUT Y EST captured the everyday moments created between people and their animal companions. In the time spent walking, resting, and looking at one another, their affection grows deeper and more certain. Mickey, Django, Cinnamon & Santa, Kaya, and Jolly — here are the stories of the five friends TOUT Y EST met.

Mickey & Gina | What It Means to Become Family
Mickey’s name was chosen after much thought within the family. When her mother saw the mottled pattern of Miki’s coat, she said, “How about Mickey?” At that moment, everyone nodded naturally. And that is how Miki became part of the family. Now, Mickey has become the heart of the home. She is the one who runs to greet you first when you open the door after work, the one who brings a smile that melts away the day’s fatigue. The joy of gaining a new family member who gives unconditional love — that has been the biggest change for all of us.

Django & Yubin | How We Share Time Together
To me, dogs are beings I want to see every single day. I’m grateful that we can always walk side by side, and simply having them near brings a sense of calm. Today, spending time with Django and being able to say, “Oh, you’re so adorable!” again and again was enough to make me genuinely happy. Sharing the same space, at the same moment — within that simplicity, we learn to understand each other.

Cinnamon, Santa & Seonyul | The Balance of Living Together
Cinnamon, whose warm coat resembles cinnamon powder, was adopted in September 2021 through the nonprofit “Daon Rescue.” And in the fall of 2024, Santa — rescued from a stream near Gimpo Airport — joined the family. His fluffy coat reminded the family of Santa Claus, which naturally became his name. Cinnamon and Santa differ in personality and in how quickly they move. But within the same space, they become the closest companions. Even if they drift apart for a moment, they soon sit side by side again — a sight that somehow feels even more peaceful. Cinnamon and Santa show us that living together means learning to embrace each other’s differences.

Kaya | A Quiet Form of Trust
Kaya, with her caramel-colored coat, carries a soft and warm impression — just like her name. Her fur has grown slightly darker over time, but that first impression remains unchanged. Kaya only nestles into her owner’s arms. The way she burrows in as if ready to fall asleep and gently rests her front paws — a single small gesture is enough to melt your heart. That tender habit never changes, even in the rhythm of daily life. In the time spent leaning on each other, trust grows deeper and steadier.

Jolly & Songwoong | The Joy of Being Together
As her name suggests, Jolly is always bright and cheerful. True to the name inspired by “Jolly,” she is lively and full of curiosity. Her favorite place is Seoul Forest. While her owner sits on a bench with a cup of coffee, Jolly spends long moments watching the birds. There may be nothing particularly special happening, but within that simple scene, there is peace. Jolly shows us that sometimes, just being together is joy enough.
